Life sure has a way of fooling you. You think that everything is going to be ok but then you get thrown a curve ball. A ball that no matter how hard you try, you will never catch it. It is a never ending cycle that you wonder if it will ever get easier. No it wont.
This past weekend, I turned another year older. For some reason, it also got to me, like my baby turn 6 months old did. I guess knowing that I will never be getting any younger has some true meaning to me. J also had his baptism. We had many friends and family show up. It was great to see friends from Wisconsin, J's godfather and his wife and son. We had a lot of fun.
Then the week had to begin. Hell, it is only Wednesday and I really wish that it had never happened. That it was only a bad dream but this is reality. On Tuesday, my sister and dad went in for more testing and meetings about her transplant. Part of the appointments was a follow-up procedure to see if she had any bad cells since her pap smear came back abnormal. They had to do a biopsy on her cervix. They are testing her for cancer. In her short 22 year life, she has been through so much more than many 90 year olds can say. She has kidney failure, is on dialasis 3 days a week, she will be having a transplant someday and now she may have cancer. This scares the shit out of me. I really don't know what to say. I am staying strong for her but it is truely eating me up inside. So until all of this is taken care of, the transplant is put on a hold.
Today added insult to injury. My mom went in for a follow-up to an MRI that she had done. They were testing her for a certain disease that make her dizzy. What they found was that she does not have the disease but instead has a spot on her brain. It is in the middle. They did say that it is not cancer and it is not a anurism. What the did say is that she had a mini stroke about 3 years ago. She was falsly diagnosed with Bells-Palsey. Now she is in on some meds to make sure that it does not happen again.
Also, my washer died today. The dryer had already told us by it's unending squealing that it would be dying but not the washer. That set lasted 10 and a half years and it was only a matter of time. So my dad and I went on a mission to find a new washer. That sure was a task. in this day and age, it is hard to spend $700 and get a nice set that would last you like the Maytags did. We debated on doing a rent to own or just buying outright. In the end, we bought outright. Now here we are, $1500 later, with a new Whirlpool Cabrio set. It will be delivered tomorrow. I cannot wait to get it in tomorrow.
Here's hoping for a better week next week.
